Bad News for Evil Dead: The Game: No More Updates or Switch Version

Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games have announced that Evil Dead: The Game will no longer receive any additional content updates. Furthermore, the planned release of the game on the Nintendo Switch has been canceled. The servers, however, will continue to remain live for the foreseeable future.

Evil Dead: The Game was initially launched on May 13, 2022, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Epic Games Store. It later received a Game of the Year Edition on April 26, 2023, which was also made available on Steam.

In a statement from Saber Interactive, they expressed their gratitude to the Evil Dead: The Game community for their support and the “groovy times” they had shared so far. They assured players that they would continue to address any major issues that may arise.

While the decision not to pursue new content development and the cancellation of the Nintendo Switch version might disappoint fans, the game will still be playable on the existing platforms. However, it is unfortunate that players will not be able to enjoy new updates or experience the game on the popular handheld console.

Evil Dead: The Game is a multiplayer action game based on the popular Evil Dead franchise created by Sam Raimi. Players take on the roles of iconic characters from the series, such as Ash Williams, as they battle against hordes of deadites in both cooperative and competitive modes.

It is always unfortunate when a game's development and support come to an end. However, for those who have enjoyed Evil Dead: The Game, there is still an opportunity to connect with the community and enjoy the existing content. While the future of the game remains uncertain, fans can hope for new adventures in the Evil Dead universe in the future.
