Developer Larian has announced that preloads for Baldur's Gate 3 will begin for PlayStation 5 users on August 31st. The exact date for preloading depends on the version of the game that has been pre-purchased. Players who have opted for the Digital Deluxe Edition can start preloading from 5pm BST on August 31st, in preparation for the early access launch on September 2nd.
For owners of the standard edition, preloading will be available from 5pm BST on September 4th, 48 hours prior to the general release on September 6th.
In addition to the preload news, Larian has released Hotfix #4 for PC players. This hotfix addresses various bug fixes, including companions refusing to wake up and issues with loading save games. The full patch notes can be found on Larian's website.
Despite some critical failures, Baldur's Gate 3 has received positive reviews and has gained a large player base since its launch earlier this month. It reached an impressive 850,000 concurrent players on Steam over the past weekend, and according to Metacritic, it is now the best-reviewed game of 2023.
PS5 owners can look forward to enjoying the ongoing bug fixing efforts of Larian. The release of Hotfix #4 for Baldur's Gate 3 aims to further improve the gaming experience for players.
