Baldur’s Gate 3 Teased for Steam Deck with Controller Support

Ahead of the highly anticipated release of Baldur's Gate 3, the Director of Publishing at Larian Studios, Michael Douse, shared on Twitter the excitement of playing the game on Steam Deck. Douse mentioned that the game looks impressive on the device, especially the quality of the models in cinematics. He also highlighted that optimization is still in progress, aiming for a solid 30 frames per second on medium settings. Furthermore, Douse revealed that cross-save between PC and PS5 will be available.

Although the game will have full controller support at launch, it will not support split-screen co-op on the Steam Deck, most likely due to the device's lower power capabilities. However, players will have the option to connect the Steam Deck to a larger screen using a Docking Station.

The upcoming release of Baldur's Gate 3 has generated much excitement among gaming enthusiasts. It offers an opportunity to delve into an immersive fantasy world and experience a captivating storyline. Pre-orders for the game are available on GOG and Steam, with the official release scheduled for August 3rd.

As the anticipation builds, players are eager to get their hands on the game and see how well it performs on the Steam Deck and desktop Linux. Reviews of the game are highly anticipated, as they will provide insight into the gameplay experience on this new handheld device.

Overall, the prospects of playing Baldur's Gate 3 on the Steam Deck have fans excited, and the game promises to deliver an unforgettable gaming experience.
