Best Pokémon to Catch at New York GO Fest

Pokémon GO Fest season is approaching, and it's expected to be bigger and better than ever before. If you're wondering which Pokémon are worth catching, look no further! This guide will provide you with valuable information on the best Pokémon to catch during the New York GO Fest period.
The event will have two experiences: the park experience at Randall's Island Park and the city experience. In the park experience, you'll find different themed habitats with specific Pokémon spawns. The first habitat is the prehistoric volcano.
One of the highlighted Pokémon in this habitat is Dratini. This Dragon type Pokémon has three evolutionary forms that excel in PvP battles. Its evolved forms, Dragonair and Dragonite, are great choices for the Great League. Dragonite, in particular, is a top-tier Pokémon in the Master League. Catching Dratini during GO Fest will allow you to collect candies and potentially find a high-level Dragonite.
Another impressive Pokémon in the prehistoric volcano habitat is Axew. With its recent community day move, Haxorus, Axew's evolved form, has gained popularity in the PvP meta. Haxorus can overturn bulky Steel, Ground, and Rock types in the Great League. It also has versatility in terms of move choices, making it a formidable contender in battles.
The prehistoric volcano habitat also features Sinnoh fossil Pokémon such as Cranidos and Shieldon. While Cranidos itself may not be useful in PvP, its evolution Rampardos is one of the best raid attackers with its powerful Rock type moves. Rampardos is especially effective against Flying type raid Pokémon like Ho-oh, Lugia, and the bird legendaries.
On the other hand, Shieldon's evolution, Bastiodon, excels in the Open Great League due to its high defenses. It can be a reliable choice for battles where endurance is key.
While these Pokémon are primarily found in the park experience, they are also available in the city experience during GO Fest. Make sure to catch as many as you can to enhance your Pokémon collection and improve your battling capabilities.
