Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition Receives Rating for New Platforms

The Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) has given a rating to “Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition” for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC. This suggests that Ubisoft is planning to re-release the original game for newer platforms in celebration of its 20th anniversary.

“Beyond Good & Evil” was originally released on November 11, 2003, and has since gained a dedicated fan base. The game follows the story of a reporter accompanied by a pig-like companion as they investigate a conspiracy on the planet of Hillys. Players assume the role of the reporter and embark on an action-adventure journey filled with exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat.

In the game, players will explore various fantasy locations and uncover evidence by taking photos. They will also need to solve puzzles to progress in the story. Combat plays a significant role, with players engaging in fast-paced battles against robot and alien enemies. Melee weapons such as staffs and torches are used to strike enemies, which often break apart or disappear upon defeat.

The ESRB rating description mentions a boss battle where a squid-like alien is stabbed in the eye, accompanied by yellow-green splatter effects. This indicates that the game may contain some intense and visually impactful moments.

With this upcoming re-release, fans of “Beyond Good & Evil” can look forward to experiencing the beloved game on modern platforms. Whether they are long-time fans or new players, this edition offers an opportunity to dive into the intriguing world of Hillys and enjoy the game's captivating story and gameplay.
