Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Star Impressed with Ghost Staring Memes

The character of Ghost from the Call of Duty franchise has become a sensation on the internet, thanks to the viral Ghost Staring memes. Samuel Roukin, who played a role in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, recently expressed his thoughts about these memes during an appearance on a YouTube channel called Dan Allen Gaming.

Ghost, known for his intense look and signature skull mask, first appeared in Modern Warfare 2. The character's popularity is due to his backstory and the connection gamers feel toward him. The internet has been flooded with Ghost Staring memes, with people sharing them in various contexts.

During the interview, Roukin discussed the scene that inspired the memes. He recalled how it was the first scene they filmed and required a lot of time and effort to get it right. Roukin commented on how the Ghost character's appearance makes it easy for people to put different things on his face. He also mentioned that if he were a fan, he would be doing the same thing.

Neil Ellice, who played Sergeant John “Soap” MacTavish, also chimed in, noting the challenges they faced while shooting the scene. They had to look out the windows from a stationary car, creating a cinematic tone. Roukin added that shooting scenes like this can be quite different from what audiences see in the final product, with props often being something as simple as a swinging music stand with a tennis ball on the end.

The Ghost Staring memes emerged from a particular scene in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign. Ghost and Soap exchange intense glances while in a vehicle with Alejandro Vargas and Rodolfo “Rudy” Parra. Soap spots kids with guns and balloons, one of them wearing Ghost's mask. This leads to the memorable “Kids, guns, and balloons…that's a new one” line from Soap.

The memes quickly became a hit on social media, spreading among the gaming community and gaining millions of views. The success of the Ghost Staring meme showcases the impact of beloved gaming characters on internet culture.
