Cities: Skylines 2 Will Offer More Content at Launch, but Certain Features Might Be Missing

The highly anticipated release of Cities: Skylines 2 is just around the corner, and fans are eagerly awaiting the new installment in the popular city-building game. While there is excitement about the upcoming release, it seems that some features known from mods and DLCs in the first game may not be included in the basic version of Cities: Skylines 2.

A recent post from the developers in response to a question on Twitter suggests that certain features, such as those found in the Park Life DLC or city rebuilding mods like Move It or Prop Line Tool, may not be included in the initial release of the game. The developers mentioned that they are focused on getting the game into the hands of players but are interested in fan feedback for future additions.

Although this is not a definitive confirmation, similar statements have been made before during the development of the game. It is possible that some of the missing features may be introduced in future DLCs, which is common for Paradox Interactive games. These DLCs are often accompanied by free updates to the base game, providing players with additional content.

The premiere of Cities: Skylines 2 is scheduled for October 24 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. It will also be included in the Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass services.

While fans may have to wait for certain features that they were hoping for, there is still excitement surrounding the release of Cities: Skylines 2. With the promise of more content at launch and the potential for future updates and DLCs, players can look forward to expanding their city-building experience in this highly anticipated sequel.
