Cloud9 Valorant Pro Jake ‘jakee’ Anderson Addresses Controversial Post from Girlfriend

Cloud9 Valorant pro Jake ‘jakee’ Anderson has responded to a controversial Twitter post made by his girlfriend following the team's losses in the VCT Americas LCQ tournament. After Cloud9's 3-2 defeat to Leviatán, jakee's girlfriend, known as ‘julee' online, made a post that caused outrage in the Latin American community. Her account has since been made private and the posts have been deleted.

Four days later, jakee addressed the community outcry by distancing himself from his girlfriend's statement. He stated that her post does not align with his character or beliefs and that he is handling the matter privately. However, the response from the community has been mixed, with many considering his statement to be a “PR response.” Social media users have also contrasted his initial response, which was quickly deleted, where he told critics to “delete the app and go to your local McDonald's and fill out a job application.”

Cloud9 has not issued any statements regarding the situation at this time. jakee joined Cloud9 in March along with former Soniqs IGL Dylan ‘runi' Cade. They replaced Jaccob ‘yay' Whiteaker and longtime IGL Anthony ‘vanity' Malaspina. Despite their strong performance in the VCT Americas regular season, finishing 8-1, Cloud9 fell short of qualifying for VCT Masters Tokyo and finished the playoff stage in fourth place.

Cloud9's VCT season came to an end with their elimination from the LCQ tournament. It is currently unclear if the team will maintain the same roster for the 2024 season or if there will be changes during the off-season.
