Cyberpunk 2077 Developers Advise Checking PC Specifications Ahead of Update

CD Projekt Red, the developer of Cyberpunk 2077, has suggested that players check their PC's specifications in preparation for the game's upcoming 2.0 update and the paid expansion, Phantom Liberty. These additions bring significant changes to the game, including a redesigned skill tree and perk system, a revamped cyberware system, vehicular combat, and enemy AI improvements.

Lead scene programmer Filip Pierściński advised players on September 11 to check their PC's cooling systems to ensure they can handle the newly tweaked open-world RPG. He emphasized running stress tests like Cinebench to check the stability of their systems and avoid potential throttling or overheating issues. Pierściński clarified that neither Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 nor Phantom Liberty will cause PCs to melt, and the game should perform well on recommended hardware.

The 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty are expected to release on September 26. While it's reassuring to know that the game won't fry PCs, given the significant changes in the update, players will be curious to see how it performs in the long run.

Cinebench is a free program that tests the performance of PC components and provides standardized scores for comparison. It can help users identify any potential hardware issues that may affect their gaming experience.
