Delta Force Reboot Revealed, Aiming to Out-Battlefield Battlefield

A complete reboot of the Delta Force game series has been announced, and it seems poised to challenge Battlefield for the throne of large-scale combat games. Developed by Tencent's TiMi Studio Group, known for titles like COD Mobile and Pokémon Unite, Delta Force appears to be going all out to outshine its competitors.

While a full reveal is scheduled for the opening night showcase of Gamescom, a thirty-second trailer has provided some initial details. The game will feature a single-player campaign set during the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993, a military operation in Somalia made famous by the film Black Hawk Down. The multiplayer component promises large-scale battles incorporating land, sea, and air combat on expansive maps.

Interestingly, the trailer also showcases some elements that may not be historically accurate, such as the use of recon arrows fired from bows and a soldier powering up with a wrist-mounted device. This suggests that Delta Force will explore different time periods, reminiscent of Battlefield 2042's Portal Mode.

The trailer also contains visuals and sound effects reminiscent of both Battlefield 2042 and Call of Duty, further fueling the anticipation for Delta Force. With Battlefield currently facing challenges and a shrinking player base, Delta Force has the opportunity to claim the crown in the realm of large-scale combat games.

More details will be revealed during the full presentation on August 22nd. Stay tuned for updates as we uncover more about this exciting reboot.
