Download Size and Details for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon on PlayStation Platforms

The download sizes for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 have been revealed. The game will occupy 55.669 GB on PlayStation 4 (Version: 1.01) and 43.340 GB on PlayStation 5 (Version: 1.001.000). Pre-load for the game will be available on August 23, 2023.

In addition, Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will feature two DRM systems: Arxan and Easy Anti-Cheat. Arxan functions similarly to Denuvo but does not impact game performance. These details provide players with more insight into what they can expect from the game.

While the download size is significant, it is not as large as some other modern games. The PlayStation 5 utilizes proprietary compression technology, allowing games to run efficiently even while compressed. Therefore, the file size for Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is expected to be closer to the 55 GB size on PlayStation 4.

Comparatively, FromSoftware's previous release, Elden Ring, had a file size of approximately 45 GB on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, 49 GB on Xbox platforms, and a substantial 60 GB on Steam.

However, it should be noted that the addition of anti-cheat systems in Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon prevents it from being verified for compatibility with the Steam Deck. This means that players who wish to play the game on a Steam Deck will not be able to access online play. Some may choose to play the game on a Windows-based gaming handheld like the ROG Ally instead.

Despite this disappointment, fans of the Armored Core series have been eagerly awaiting this new installment from FromSoftware. The game is set to release on August 25, 2023, and will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows via Steam.
