Dr. Disrespect Claims Bethesda Refused to Work with Him Due to Past Controversies

Popular streamer Dr. Disrespect has revealed that Bethesda, the developers behind the highly anticipated game Starfield, has refused to work with him based on his “past controversies.” While the exact reason may never be known, Dr. Disrespect's history of controversy, including a Twitch ban and involvement in the NICKMERCS Call of Duty skin drama, has garnered attention throughout his rise as one of the internet's biggest streamers.

Despite the controversies, Dr. Disrespect's opinions hold weight in the gaming community, with tens of thousands of live viewers and millions of viewers on his video content. His influence has given him numerous opportunities for sponsorships and business ventures. However, it seems that Bethesda was not interested in collaborating with him, as stated by the streamer himself.

Dr. Disrespect expressed his excitement for Starfield and had been hyping up the game for a while. Although he is known for his prowess in multiplayer games, he enjoys playing single-player games as well. However, he was taken aback when he noticed that the character creation screen in Starfield offered pronoun options for the character. This led him to take a jab at Pete Hines, the head of publishing at Bethesda, for having pronouns in his bio.

In a VoD, Dr. Disrespect stated that Bethesda denied him a sponsorship due to his past controversies. He also requested the ability to play the game at the same time as other streamers with early access, but this request was also denied. Despite his grievances, he played Starfield for over 9 hours during his stream and was impressed with the game's scale and content.

Dr. Disrespect has addressed the clip, stating that his words have been taken out of context. He faced accusations of being transphobic on Twitter, to which he responded by questioning the insecurities of those making such claims.

While Dr. Disrespect has addressed the situation, Bethesda has yet to comment on their interaction with him or confirm if they denied him a sponsorship.
