FACEIT Introduces New Features and Pathway to Pro for Counter-Strike 2

FACEIT, the leading esports platform for CS:GO, is solidifying its position in the gaming community with the release of Counter-Strike 2 (CS2). Offering a robust pathway to reaching the pro level, FACEIT is welcoming CS2 players to its community of 22 million players.

The platform's well-established ranking system, ranging from level 1 to level 10, along with its renowned anti-cheat system, will remain unchanged. However, with the launch of CS2, FACEIT is introducing a new seasonal Elo system that will culminate with the first FACEIT Pro League (FPL) Proving Grounds. This tournament will feature a $100,000 prize pool for the top-ranked “Challenger” players.

Challenger is the new rank for the top 1,000 players in the Europe, South America, and North America regions. The top three players from the FPL Proving Grounds will earn a direct invite to the FPL, as well as a monthly stipend to support their journey to the pro level.

Players can kickstart their journey by participating in community tournaments or qualifying for the FACEIT Proving Grounds. This offers a platform for players to hone their skills against other serious competitors.

Replacing the FPL-C Hubs and FPL-C Qualifiers, the FPL Proving Grounds will serve as the grand finale for each season of FACEIT CS2. It will take place every four months and directly connect the Elo leaderboards of the European, North American, and South American regions.

In addition to these updates, FACEIT will be rolling out server selectors for European servers. This will enhance connectivity for players in the CIS region, reduce language barriers, and offer a wider range of server locations.

FACEIT is also introducing a feature called Super Matches, allowing players to have more control over their matchmaking experience. This feature guarantees specific characteristics for the next match, and version 1.0 of Super Match will be available to all Plus and Premium subscribers in all regions.

Commenting on the launch of CS2 and the new features, Niccolo Maisto, co-CEO of the ESL FACEIT Group, expressed excitement and extended a warm welcome to players, organizers, teams, and creators who share the passion for competitive Counter-Strike.

Counter-Strike 2 marks a new era for players worldwide, and FACEIT is determined to support the transition and keep up with the updates CS2 brings. Its decade-long presence has made it an integral part of the CS:GO ecosystem. Despite concerns that the sub-tick system and VAC Live would overshadow FACEIT, the platform continues to thrive.
