Turn 10 Studios' highly anticipated racing sim game, Forza Motorsport, is just two weeks away from release, and players are getting ready to dive into the immersive world of high-speed racing. However, it seems that they will need to make some room on their devices, as the file sizes for the game have been revealed and they are quite hefty.
According to Turn 10 Studios, the file sizes for Forza Motorsport vary depending on the platform you are installing it on. For the Xbox Series S version, players will need to allocate 100GB of free space. The Steam version, on the other hand, comes in at 118GB for the installed file size, while the download size is slightly smaller at 108GB. The Microsoft Store version is a bit larger with a file size of 119GB. However, the largest file size belongs to the Xbox Series X, which requires a whopping 133GB of space.
It is worth noting that only three out of the four versions of Forza Motorsport are available for pre-loading. Steam users will have to wait until closer to the release date to pre-install the game.
These massive file sizes are becoming more common in the current generation of console gaming. In addition to the console versions, the PC download sizes are also quite substantial. Turn 10 Studios previously recommended using an NVMe SSD to install the game, suggesting that players should free up 130GB of SSD space on their rigs.
Forza Motorsport is set to be released on October 10th for PC and Xbox Series X/S. However, those who have purchased the Premium Edition and Premium Add-Ons Bundle will have early access on October 5th. Fans of the series can look forward to a new and improved racing experience, as Forza Motorsport aims to become a “racing platform for the future.”
