Forza Motorsport PC Requirements Revealed

Microsoft has announced the minimum PC specifications required to play Forza Motorsport, set to be released on October 10th. While the game will be playable on a range of PCs as well as Xbox Series X/S consoles, higher-end specs are needed for ultra settings.

Forza Motorsport can run at resolutions up to 4K and supports ultrawide resolutions. It also leverages Nvidia’s DLSS 2 and AMD’s FSR 2.2 upscaling technologies. However, support for DLSS 3 is not available at launch but may be optimized and improved later. The game also includes shader pre-compilation and pre-caching to reduce stuttering and utilizes DirectStorage to improve loading times.

The game is compatible with various racing wheels from Logitech, Thrustmaster, and Fanatec.

Minimum requirements include an Intel Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 1600 processor, GTX 1060 or RX 5500 XT graphics card, and 4GB of RAM. Recommended specs suggest an Intel Core i5-11600K or Ryzen 5 5600X processor, RTX 2080 Ti or RX 6800 XT graphics card, and 8GB of RAM. For the highest settings, an Intel Core i7-11700K or Ryzen 7 5800X processor, RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XT graphics card, and 16GB of RAM are recommended.

Microsoft also advises having at least 130GB of free storage space on an SSD, regardless of the chosen settings.

In terms of gameplay, frame rates will be locked during multiplayer races to ensure fair competition across different PC specifications and consoles. The game also boasts new accessibility features, including blind driving assist for visually impaired users.

The Nürburgring GP circuit will be available at launch, while the Nordschleife circuit will be added in spring 2024.

Forza Motorsport will be available on PC and Xbox Series X/S consoles on October 10th, with Game Pass support from day one. Pre-orders are currently open on Steam and the Microsoft Store.
