Forza Motorsport Returns: A Look at the Upcoming Game

Forza Horizon has been stealing the spotlight in recent years, but fans of the main Forza series have been waiting patiently for a new release. It's been six years since the last entry, Forza Motorsport 7, arrived on Xbox One. However, the wait is finally over as developer Turn10 is set to release Forza Motorsport, the eighth installment in the series.

Unlike previous releases, Forza Motorsport suggests a sense of permanence. It's unlikely that we'll see another game in the series in just two years. Instead, this game will be continually built upon with regular updates, including new cars, tracks, and features. This approach mirrors the success of games like Halo Infinite, which plan to evolve over time.

Early previews of Forza Motorsport highlight its stunning graphics. The game is a strong contender for the title of the best-looking racing game of all time. With the power of the Xbox Series X | S, players can choose from three different graphics modes. Performance mode offers 60 frames per second at 4K resolution, while Performance RT mode adds ray tracing to the mix. If visuals are your priority, Visuals mode turns on ray tracing with a 4K resolution, but limits the frame rate to 30fps.

Forza Motorsport also introduces a new leveling system called Builder's Cup. Players will start with level 1 cars and can level them up by participating in races and practice laps. Leveling up unlocks new tuning parts, allowing players to customize their vehicles for optimal performance. This approach of unlocking parts through gameplay is a departure from the previous game, Gran Turismo 7, where players had to spend credits in the Tuning Shop.

In addition to winning races, players can earn Car XP by driving skillfully and efficiently. Each turn is graded out of 10, and a higher score results in more XP. This incentivizes players to master racing lines, acceleration, and braking for greater rewards.

With its impressive visuals and innovative gameplay mechanics, Forza Motorsport is poised to be a standout racing game. Fans of the series and newcomers alike can look forward to diving into the immersive world of high-speed racing when the game releases on October 10.
