Grand Theft Auto 6 Development Possibly Started in 2015, According to Leak

There have been numerous leaks and rumors circulating online about the future of the beloved video game franchise, Grand Theft Auto. A recent leak on Reddit has shed some light on the development timeline of Grand Theft Auto 6.

The leak revolves around a former Rockstar Games employee named Jon Young, who worked with the company from 2005 to 2018. According to his LinkedIn profile, Young served as a lead video editor in the research department for Grand Theft Auto 6 since 2015. This suggests that the game's production started around that time.

Grand Theft Auto V was initially released in 2013 and continued to receive updates and releases in the following years. The launch of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms in 2014, followed by the PC port in 2015, may have allowed Rockstar Games to allocate more resources to Grand Theft Auto 6. However, it is possible that development began even earlier.

Unfortunately, there is still no official announcement regarding the release of Grand Theft Auto 6. However, Take-Two Interactive's recent earnings report hinted at a potentially successful fiscal year, which could be attributed to the launch of a game like Grand Theft Auto 6. Fans will have to wait for the official announcement from Rockstar Games.

Aside from Grand Theft Auto, Jon Young's profile also mentioned his involvement in the development of Bully 2, a project that was previously reported to have been scrapped by Rockstar Games. Additionally, there was mention of a possible Bully 3, indicating that the company had ambitious plans for this IP.
