How to Beat Colgera in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

Colgera is one of the bosses in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and understanding its pattern can make it one of the easiest bosses to beat. This airborne battle requires strategic moves and careful attention. Colgera is a formidable enemy that can take you out with a single attack if you're not careful. If you want to know how to beat Colgera, here's a guide on how to do it.

The best strategy to defeat Colgera is to use a bow and arrow to target its weak spots. These weak spots can be found behind Colgera's spikes and underneath it. It's important to have multiple bows and plenty of arrows for this battle. The Great Eagle Bow is recommended, but there are other ranged weapons that can be effective as well. Around 12 arrows should be enough if your aim is not perfect.

At the start of the fight, you'll already be in the air diving toward Colgera. The boss will fly around and periodically dive into a portal to attack you from below. It's important to avoid these attacks as they are quite powerful. Colgera will also shoot spikes towards you, which will reveal the weak spots covered in ice. Dive toward the boss, shoot arrows to break the ice, and then shoot one more arrow to hit the exposed weak spot. This will deal massive damage. The weak spots can also be targeted from underneath Colgera. By positioning yourself correctly and aiming accurately, you can hit all three weak spots in one go. Destroying the third weak spot will initiate Phase 2 of the boss fight.

In Phase 2, Colgera will shoot spikes more frequently and summon tornadoes that you'll need to avoid. Additionally, it adds a spin attack from below that is difficult to dodge. Tulin's gust of wind power can be used to boost you away from danger during this phase. The strategy remains the same – shoot the weak spots behind the scale or on the underbelly to defeat Colgera.

Alternatively, if you run out of bows or arrows, you can still damage Colgera without using weapons. Dive-bombing Colgera's weak points with Link can also deal significant damage. However, this method is slower since Link can't fly as fast as arrows and diving from below is not possible.

These strategies should help you defeat Colgera in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
