Is Baldur’s Gate 3 Cross-Platform?

Baldur's Gate 3 is available on PC and Mac, with a PS5 version launching next month, and an Xbox Series X|S version set for a 2024 release. However, cross-platform play between PC and PS5 is currently not available. Larian Studios, the game's developer, has not announced any plans to support cross-platform play between these two platforms in the future.

However, cross-platform play is supported between separate PC versions. So if you play Baldur's Gate 3 on Steam and want to team up with a friend who is playing the GOG version, you can do so. It is also supported between players on PC and Mac.

It is likely that cross-platform play will be supported between PC and Xbox Series X|S, especially if the game is released on the Windows Store. But no official announcements have been made regarding this at the moment.

On the other hand, cross-platform saves are enabled between PC, PS5, and Mac. If you own the game on these platforms and have linked it to your Larian account, you can carry your adventure seamlessly across different devices. This means you can start playing Baldur's Gate 3 on PC now and continue on PS5 when it launches in September 2023.

While cross-platform play may not be available between PC and PS5, it's still possible to enjoy the game's rich and immersive world on multiple platforms and continue your progress without any issues.
