Mac Release of Baldur’s Gate III Coming Soon

The highly anticipated game, Baldur's Gate III, will soon be available for Mac users, as Larian Studios has announced its full release on September 21. While a limited, early access version has been available for Mac OS, players have only been able to experience the first act of the game, with approximately 25 hours of content. However, with the upcoming release, Mac gamers will be able to delve deeper into the game, exploring Moonrise Towers and unraveling secrets in the third act.

Originally released for Windows PCs on August 3, Baldur's Gate III recently made its debut on the PlayStation 5. Although it remains a PlayStation 5 exclusive for consoles, this is not due to a deal between Larian Studios and Sony Entertainment. Rather, the developer faced a technical challenge that prevented the game from launching on Xbox at the same time.

Microsoft has specific rules in place that require developers to ensure games released for the Series S and Series X have the same features. Unfortunately, Larian Studios encountered difficulties in making the game's split-screen cooperative feature work on the less powerful Series S. However, after a meeting with Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer, the developer received permission to release the title for the Series S without the split-screen function. Additionally, the game will support cross-save progression between Steam and the two Xbox consoles.

Although an exact release date has not been announced, the Xbox version of Baldur's Gate III is expected to arrive before the end of the year. Mac users can look forward to immersing themselves in the world of Baldur's Gate III very soon.
