Mason Greenwood to Return in EA Sports FC 24

After being removed from EA Sports' Fifa games following his arrest in January 2022, English footballer Mason Greenwood will be reinstated for the upcoming season's edition, titled EA Sports FC 24. The Manchester United player had been on loan to Getafe, and charges against him, including attempted rape and assault, were dropped on February 2, 2023, with Greenwood maintaining his innocence throughout.

In the wake of his arrest, Greenwood was removed from active squads and offline modes in Fifa 22, including popular features like Ultimate Team (FUT) packs and Ultimate Draft. He was also absent entirely from Fifa 23. While EA Sports had initially decided not to reinstate him for last season's game, they announced their inclusion of Greenwood for this season following an internal investigation conducted by Manchester United.

EA Sports stated that their new game, EA Sports FC 24, aims to authentically reflect the real-world active rosters of football teams and clubs. As Mason Greenwood is now part of the active roster at Getafe CF, he will be included in the game. However, as he was not part of an active roster at the time when the team and player data was finalized, he will not be available in Ultimate Team at launch.

Mason Greenwood is no stranger to the Fifa games, having made his debut as a 67-rated silver card in Fifa 20. He then received two more appearances in subsequent editions, with his card evolving into a 78-rated rare gold item before his temporary removal.
