Mortal Kombat 1 Leak: Shujinko Returning as a Kameo Character

According to a recent leak, Mortal Kombat 1 will be bringing back Shujinko as a Kameo character. Shujinko originally made his debut in MK: Deception. The Kameo system in MK1 will allow players to select a secondary character to fight alongside their primary character during matches. This feature will provide a fun way to mix up the bouts, especially if players choose Kameo fighters that complement their primary pick.

NetherRealm has already revealed a total of 13 Kameo characters for the MK1 roster, including Cyrax, Sektor, Jax, Goro, and Sonya Blade. The roster also includes callbacks from the 3D era of Mortal Kombat, such as Darrius and Frost. Now, it seems that another combatant from that era will be making a triumphant return.

A Reddit user named bac736 claimed to have insider information about another Kameo character for MK1. According to the leak, players will have the option to choose Shujinko as their secondary pick. The user was unable to provide additional details but mentioned a silhouette with a question mark, suggesting the possibility of a secret or random select Kameo character.

While the legitimacy of this information is still unconfirmed, the mods of the Mortalkombatleaks subreddit have reviewed an image provided by the leaker and deemed it credible. If the leak is accurate, Shujinko will be the 14th out of 15 Kameo characters in Mortal Kombat 1.

Fans can look forward to more details about the MK1 roster in the upcoming weeks. NetherRealm has announced an MK1 beta for preorder purchasers, starting on August 18. The beta will feature six combatants, five Kameo fighters, and two stages. As always, it's advisable to approach leaks and rumors with caution until official confirmation is obtained.
