Need for Speed Unbound Vol. 4 Update: What to Expect

EA has announced the Need for Speed Unbound Vol. 4 update, which will celebrate Porsche's 75th anniversary with new cars and features.

In this update, players can expect two new Porsche cars as Speed Pass rewards. Reaching Speed Pass rank 50 will unlock the 1997 Legendary Custom Porsche 911 Carrera S, and completing it three times will earn you the fully electric 2022 Porsche Taycan Turbo S.

Additionally, the Vol. 4 update offers 75 free customization options for your player avatar. Need for Speed Heat players will also receive a free 1994 McLaren F1 in their garages. EA Play subscribers can get the electric neon 25th Anniversary Legendary Custom Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4.

Modified versions of existing cars can be purchased in premium DLC packs. The Hip Hop Origin Swag Pack includes the Legendary Custom Mercedes-AMG G 63 (2017), while the Lotus Exige S Legendary Custom Pack provides a custom Lotus Exige S with a custom body kit and livery.

The Vol. 4 Customs Pack features cars from previous Need for Speed games, including Eddie’s Nissan Skyline GT-R V·spec (1993) from Underground, Rachel’s Nissan 350Z (2008) from Underground 2, and Joe’s Polestar 1 (2020) from Heat.

One of the highlights of the update is the addition of seven new Linkup Areas, where up to 16 players can meet and complete challenges. These areas include the Kennedy Test Track and Griffith Construction. Players can also fast travel to Linkup locations, a highly requested feature by the community.

Some Playlists and Linkups will become Boosted during the update, allowing players to earn extra rewards and boost their Bank balance. There are also 50 new Daily challenges, 39 new Weekly challenges, and 15 new one-shot challenges for returning players to complete and build their bank.

The Need for Speed Unbound Vol. 4 update is set to release on August 16th.
