New Job Listing Hints at Another Open-World Need For Speed Game

A recent job listing suggests that a new open-world Need For Speed game is currently in development. While racing game enthusiasts have plenty to look forward to in the coming months, it seems that EA and Criterion are already working on the next installment of the popular franchise.

The job listing, posted by Criterion, is for a ‘World Artist' who will be a part of creating an open world that takes the Need For Speed franchise “to the next level.” The listing mentions the team's experience working on other beloved franchises like Battlefield, Star Wars Battlefront, and Burnout, and their goal to challenge the conventions of the racing genre.

The ideal candidate for the role should have an appreciation or knowledge of architecture, urban planning, and visual design. This suggests that the game will likely have an urban setting, which aligns with expectations for a Need For Speed title.

Although fans are eagerly anticipating more information about the game, a reveal seems to be a while away. In the meantime, racing game enthusiasts can look forward to other exciting releases, such as Sony's Gran Turismo film and Ubisoft's The Crew Motorfest. Additionally, Forza Motorsport is also scheduled for release, which will be available on Xbox Game Pass from day one.
