New Opportunities for HBCU Students: The Madden 24 HBCU Championship

The NFL has joined forces with EA Sports to present the fourth annual Madden 24 tournament exclusively for students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This exciting event is designed for HBCU students who share a passion for video games and football, offering them a chance to showcase their skills and compete for fantastic rewards.

In addition to the thrilling competition, the tournament serves as an invaluable platform for the NFL and EA Sports to invest in the professional development of HBCU students. Winners of the tournament will have the opportunity to engage in job shadowing experiences and network with industry professionals at the NFL Pro Bowl, set to take place on February 4, 2024.

HBCU students can take various paths to qualify for the Madden 24 HBCU Championship during the NFL Pro Bowl. The qualification process consists of Open Qualifiers, Women's Qualifiers, and HBCU Video Applications. This inclusive approach ensures that all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in HBCU schools are eligible to participate.

The qualifiers, scheduled for October, November, and December, will feature Madden NFL 24 competitions on PC, Xbox Series X or S, and PlayStation 5 systems. The top three players from both the Open and Women's Qualifiers will earn a coveted spot in the HBCU Championship, which will take place in Orlando.

To further enhance the opportunities available, students can also submit a video application explaining why they deserve to attend the HBCU Championship. The NFL will carefully select the top two winners based on specific criteria. Submissions will remain open until December 4.

The top eight players chosen from the qualifiers and video applications will not only get to compete in the NFL Pro Bowl Games, but they will also enjoy an immersive experience. This immersive experience will include media interviews, shadowing NFL executives for valuable insights into the sports business, and even having the chance to tour Camping World Stadium. Participants will also have the unique opportunity to interact with NFL players and receive a media pass for field access during the game. Moreover, throughout the tournament, participants will have the chance to win cash prizes and other exciting rewards.
