New PS5 Update Introduces Collaborative Gaming and Enhanced Accessibility

The latest PS5 update brings exciting features and improvements to enhance the gaming experience for players. One notable addition is the ability to assign a second controller as an assist, allowing gamers to collaborate and help others during gameplay. This accessibility feature enables two controllers to be used simultaneously, fostering teamwork and cooperative play.

One of the key highlights of the update is the support for larger SSD capacities, now expanded to 8TB. This means players can enjoy even more storage space for their games, allowing for a vast library of titles to choose from without worrying about limited storage capacity.

Improving accessibility for gamers with differing abilities, the update introduces haptic feedback effects that can be activated while navigating through menus. Compatible with both DualSense controllers and the PS VR2 controller, this feature provides additional feedback on inputs, benefiting players with visual or hearing disabilities.

Furthermore, voice command options have been added for US and UK players. Uttering phrases like “Hey PlayStation, help” or “Hey PlayStation, what's new?” triggers useful content or reveals the current PS Plus monthly games lineup, respectively. This voice command functionality streamlines access to information, enhancing the overall user experience.

The PS5 update also extends PS Remote Play support to additional Android devices, enabling players to utilize their PS5 or PS4 by streaming games to other devices. Newly verified devices include the Chromecast with Google TV (4K model) and the Bravia XR A95L TV model, expanding the range of compatible devices for seamless gaming on the go.

Other notable features in the update include emoji reactions on the PS App, support for Dolby Atmos-enabled audio devices, and various social feature enhancements. Players can now search for games in their library more conveniently, eliminating the need for endless scrolling.
