New Rating for Minecraft Fuels Speculation on Next-Gen Enhancements

The popular sandbox game, Minecraft, has recently received a new rating from the ESRB in the US, sparking rumors of a potential next-generation update. This comes after a previous Xbox Series X|S rating in Germany last month.

The ESRB rating for Xbox consoles in the US is “E10+ for ‘everyone' 10 and up,” indicating that it is suitable for players of all ages above 10. It mentions the presence of fantasy violence, user interaction, and in-game purchases.

It is worth noting that Minecraft on Xbox consoles had a preview of ray tracing added to it in March of last year, albeit mistakenly. This has led to speculation that a proper next-generation port or upgrade could include ray tracing as one of its enhancements.

What are your thoughts on a next-generation version of Minecraft? Would you be interested in seeing ray tracing in a game like this? Let us know in the comments below.
