Nintendo UK and Digital Schoolhouse Team Up for Splatoon 3 Tournaments

Nintendo UK has once again joined forces with Digital Schoolhouse for a series of Splatoon 3 tournaments. These collaborative programs aim to cultivate the next generation of creative computing talent by providing students with valuable skills and knowledge in the field of esports and the gaming industry.

The tournaments, designed for students aged 12-18, allow participants to assume real-life roles within the games industry. Students from each school will form teams of four and compete against other schools in regional and national qualifiers, with the ultimate goal of reaching the Grand Final.

Since its inception, the program has reached over 30,000 students in schools and colleges across the UK. It focuses on teaching vital skills such as communication, teamwork, and problem-solving, which are not only crucial in the gaming world but also in various other careers.

The partnership between Nintendo UK and Digital Schoolhouse goes beyond mere competition. The program provides students with a deep understanding of the various careers available in the video game industry, from shoutcasting and design to journalism. Prizes are also awarded in these categories to encourage students to explore their interests and talents.

According to research conducted on previous participants, the program has had a significant impact on students. There has been a 40% increase in students expressing interest in studying computing, and 75% of participants reported improvements in their communication skills. Additionally, an impressive 79% felt that their team-building abilities had improved.
