NVIDIA GeForce Now Users at Risk of Losing Game Saves in Baldur’s Gate 3

Baldur's Gate 3, known for its vast RPG experience, is facing a data loss issue for players using NVIDIA GeForce Now. The game's size has caused problems, as excessive saving can confuse data transfer, resulting in corrupted or lost saves. NVIDIA has acknowledged the issue and is working on a solution.

Several warning messages appeared on the GeForce Now status website, cautioning players about frequent saving leading to data loss. NVIDIA has recognized that some users are experiencing this problem due to storage limitations. As a temporary fix, they advise limiting manual saves and reducing the number of Auto and Quicksaves to a maximum of 10 through the game settings.

Whether players choose to quick-save or save manually, Baldur's Gate 3 seems to have difficulties transferring save files to the data cloud. While the imposed limit on saved games may alleviate the situation, existing lost saves cannot be recovered at present.

In the RPG community, the mantra “save early, save often” is common practice to enable players to go back to crucial decisions or situations. Sadly, this holds potential risks for GeForce Now users playing Baldur's Gate 3.

For assistance with Baldur's Gate 3, a variety of guides and walkthroughs are available in the Baldur's Gate 3 topic.
