Path of Exile 2 Closed Beta and Public Beta Announced

Path of Exile 2, the highly anticipated action RPG from Grinding Gear Games, will have a closed beta in June 2024, followed by a public beta expected in mid-2024. Originally planned as an expansion to Path of Exile, the game evolved into a full-fledged standalone release due to its scope growing during development.

Set years after the events of the original Path of Exile, players will return to the dark world of Wraeclast, aiming to put an end to the spreading corruption. The game will introduce a brand-new campaign featuring six acts, along with 100 unique environments, 600 monsters, and 100 challenging bosses.

Players will have access to twelve character classes, with two options for each combination of Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence attributes. Each class variant offers a different playstyle, and players can mix and match skills from multiple classes to create their ideal character build. Additionally, each class has three unique Ascendancy specializations, resulting in a total of 36 Ascendancy Classes to choose from.

Path of Exile 2 will offer a vast array of content, including 240 Skill Gems, 200 Support Gems, a Passive Skill Tree with 2,000 skills, 700 equipment base types, 100 endgame maps, boss fights, and modifiers that bring back revamped versions of past leagues.

Grinding Gear Games plans to continue offering expansions for both Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2 in the future. Furthermore, all in-game purchases will be shared between the two games, allowing players to seamlessly transition between them.

Originally announced at ExileCon in November 2019, Path of Exile 2 was initially expected to have a beta by late 2020. The original game was released in 2013 for PC and later made its way to Xbox One in 2017 and PlayStation 4 in 2019.

Similar to its predecessor, Path of Exile 2 will be a free-to-play online multiplayer game with support for up to six players in co-op mode. The game will be available on Mac, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X platforms.
