PlayStation Plus to Remove Deathloop from Subscription Service

It doesn't matter which PlayStation Plus tier you subscribe to, each offers a great selection of games. Since its inception during the PS3 era, PlayStation Plus has consistently provided some of the best games for the console, and this generation is no different.

In 2021, Bethesda released Deathloop, a game that took the gaming community by storm. Developed by Arkane, the same studio behind the Dishonored series, Deathloop offers a similar aesthetic design and gameplay mechanics. The developers have even confirmed that both games share the same universe. Deathloop features a gameplay loop where players are trapped in an endless time loop and must uncover the secrets of the island of Blackreef. The tagline of the game accurately captures its essence: “If at first, you don't succeed…Die, die again.”

As Colt, the protagonist, players must assassinate eight key targets to break the cycle and escape the time loop. They can learn from each cycle, explore new paths, gather intel, and acquire new weapons and abilities. Deathloop became available on Sony's PlayStation Plus in September 2022, but it will soon be leaving the subscription service. Players interested in experiencing this highly acclaimed game must do so before September 19, 2023.

Aside from Deathloop, several other games will also be leaving PlayStation Plus, including Chicory: A Colorful Tale, Death end re;Quest 2, Nidhogg 2, Through the Darkest of Times: a historical resistance strategy game, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands, Watch Dogs, and Watch Dogs 2.

Deathloop received positive reviews from players and critics. It offers a challenging and rewarding experience as players navigate the intricacies of the island. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
