Pokémon GO Machamp Raid Guide: How to Defeat Machamp in Tier Three Raids

The new Season of Pokémon GO, called Adventures Abound, has kicked off with exciting content and challenging raids. One of the Tier Three Raid Bosses is Machamp, a powerful Fighting-type Pokémon. In this guide, we will provide you with the top counters and strategies to defeat Machamp.

According to calculations by Pokebattler, the top ten Machamp counters are Mega Rayquaza, Shadow Mewtwo, Mega Alakazam, Mega Gallade, Mewtwo, Mega Gardevoir, Rayquaza, Mega Latios, Shadow Moltres, and Shadow Latios. It is recommended to power up these counters as much as possible, but if you don't have access to strong Shadow Pokémon or Mega evolutions, there are other non-Shadow and non-Mega counters that can be effective, such as Hoopa Unbound, Yveltal, Lunala, Latios, Hoopa Confined, Galarian Articuno, Apex Purified Lugia, Moltres, Alakazam, and Espeon.

While Machamp can be defeated with one trainer, it is recommended to have at least two players if you don't have the optimal counters. Utilizing the Circle Lock Technique and using Golden Razz Berries can increase your chances of catching Machamp. Unfortunately, Machamp cannot be encountered in its Shiny form, so if you want a Shiny Machamp, you will need to catch and evolve a Shiny Machop.
