PS5 and Switch Versions of Side-Scrolling Action Platformer Elypse Launching on August 2

The PlayStation 5 and Switch versions of the side-scrolling action platformer Elypse will be released on August 2. The game will be priced at $19.99 / €19.99 and will be published by PID Games and developed by Hot Chili Games. It is unclear whether the previously announced PlayStation 4 version is still in development.

Elypse was first launched for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on May 17. The game is set in an infernal world called the Abyss, where a sacrifice must be made every ten years to protect the people. The player takes on the role of a character who has been chosen for the sacrifice and attempts to escape the depths of the Abyss.

The game combines platforming and action elements in a 2D Metroidvania style. Players will need to navigate through a dangerous environment filled with traps and enemies. The game features a dash and slash system that allows players to swiftly move and attack. As players progress, they can unlock new skills and abilities to help them survive the challenges of the Abyss.

Elypse offers striking and atmospheric environments that players can explore as they strive to escape the Abyss. The game's dark and gloomy style adds to its immersive experience.

A new trailer for the game has been released, showcasing its gameplay and setting.
