River City Girls 2 Receives Major Update Patch, Adds Online 4-Player Mode

WayForward has released a significant update patch for their beat-'em-up game, River City Girls 2, on all platforms. The update introduces online play to the previously available 4-player local co-op mode on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Crossplay functionality is also supported in the online mode.

River City Girls 2 is considered one of the best entries in the series, featuring new characters, stages, enemies, and more. Additionally, the game offers an addictive RPG-like growth system and unlockables, providing players with an extensive playtime. The recent patch also allows the game to run at 60 FPS on all platforms except for the Nintendo Switch.

To celebrate the update, a new trailer for River City Girls 2 was released, narrated by popular YouTuber Jacksepticeye. The trailer showcases the game's exciting gameplay and features, enticing players to join in on the action.

The game is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Players can enjoy the thrilling story of Kyoko and Misako, two high-schoolers on a quest to rescue their kidnapped boyfriends, Kunio and Riki, from the six regions of River City. The game offers a variety of combo mechanics, including counters, throws, and special attacks, to navigate through the streets and defeat enemies.

Interacting with NPCs adds another layer of fun to the game, with guest stars from previous River City titles making appearances. With the addition of online play, players can now team up with friends from all over the world to take on the challenges of River City together.
