Saigon Buffalo, Successful League of Legends Organization, Up for Sale

Professional League of Legends organization, Saigon Buffalo, has announced that it is up for sale, opening an opportunity for potential buyers to acquire the franchise's slot in the Vietnam Championship Series (VCS). In a Facebook post, Saigon Buffalo stated that they are looking to transfer their team and VCS competition spots due to tight financial conditions. The organization is welcoming inquiries from interested parties to discuss a potential purchase.

Historically, Saigon Buffalo has been one of the most successful League of Legends teams in Vietnam. Over the past years, the team has secured four international appearances, with consecutive participations in the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) and the World Championship in 2022. Alongside GAM Esports, Saigon Buffalo represented Vietnam on the international stage as the only two teams from the region.

Despite their strong performance, Saigon Buffalo narrowly missed out on a chance to represent the VCS at this year's World Championship. They were eliminated from the domestic playoffs by Team Whales, who ultimately became the runners-up and first-time Worlds participants.

If Saigon Buffalo successfully completes the sale process and finds a buyer before the start of the 2024 VCS season, it is highly likely that the team's presence in the professional League of Legends scene will come to an end. The new owner will have the opportunity to rebrand and rename the organization, as is customary with team sales.

For those interested in acquiring a professional League team, it is important to note that owning such a franchise requires a significant financial investment, often amounting to millions of dollars.

The VCS' current representatives at the World Championship, GAM Esports and Team Whales, will return to competition when the tournament begins on October 9th.
