Starfield Will Be Available on Samsung TVs Before PS5

The highly anticipated space-oriented game, Starfield, is set to release on September 6 for PC and Xbox users. However, it seems that Samsung TV owners will also have the opportunity to experience this immersive title. So, how did this unlikely partnership come to be?

In a deal between Samsung and Bethesda, Starfield will be made available on the Samsung Gaming Hub, Samsung's game streaming service. By subscribing to the Game Pass, users will be able to access and play the game on their Samsung TVs.

The collaboration between Samsung and Bethesda was spurred on by the launch of Samsung's latest monitor, the Odyssey Neo G9 57 inch. Dubbed the world's first dual UHD monitor, the Odyssey Neo G9 boasts an incredible 1000R ratio, providing an immersive gaming experience. As part of a marketing campaign for the monitor, Samsung decided to offer Starfield on the Samsung Gaming Hub.

While this may seem peculiar, considering Samsung's lack of gaming services, it becomes clearer when considering Microsoft's acquisition of ZeniMax (Bethesda's parent company) in 2021. By keeping Starfield exclusive to Xbox and PC users, Microsoft aims to strengthen its ecosystem and attract more users to its platforms. Additionally, this promotion of Samsung screens further enhances the partnership between the two companies.

It is worth noting that the Samsung Gaming Hub will be available on supported 2023 ranges of Samsung TVs and monitors, making this a tempting offer for those in the market for a new TV but lacking the means to play Xbox games.

Will this exclusivity arrangement between Starfield and Samsung continue in the future? Only time will tell. But for now, gamers can look forward to exploring the depths of space on their Samsung TVs alongside their PC and Xbox counterparts.
