The Fortnite Update v26.20: What to Expect

The Fortnite downtime for update v26.20 will begin at 3 am Eastern Time today, September 26, 2023. This is the second major update for Chapter 4 Season 4, and it has been brought forward by an hour compared to the previous update. However, it is likely that the main update will actually start at 4 am Eastern Time, as is the norm.

The main highlight of this update is the availability of the Ahsoka Tano Outfit for Chapter 4 Season 4 Battle Pass holders. Players will need to complete challenges associated with this section of the Battle Pass in order to unlock the cosmetics. Additionally, there will be a few other changes in the game.

The Fortnite downtime is expected to last only a few hours, with servers being up and running by 6 am Eastern Time. It is advised for players to log off by 2:30 am Eastern Time to avoid losing progress. While Battle Royale players may not be majorly impacted by being abruptly logged out, those in Save The World mode may lose out on in-game progress.

For players who want to stay in the game until the servers are temporarily taken offline, it is recommended to do so in the Creative mode. There are plenty of maps available to try out, and progress will not be lost as experience points will be calibrated after the session ends.

In terms of fixes and content changes, the highlight of this update is the addition of the Ahsoka Tano Outfit. There are also rumors that Star Wars items, such as Force Powers, Lightsabers, and Blasters, might be added back temporarily. However, Night Troopers and Grand Admiral Thrawn will not be featured as NPCs in the game, despite being cool additions. It is speculated that they may be featured as Outfits or NPCs in May 2024 during the Star Wars Day celebrations.

Other changes in the update include the vaulting of Deku's Smash Mythic and all birthday items. Epic Games is also likely to reveal the upcoming Crew Pack for October 2023, but details about the theme of the new Outfit are currently unknown.

During the downtime, more information about Fortnitemares 2023 is expected to become available. As the last update before the start of the “Spooky Month,” developers are likely to add files related to the upcoming in-game event. Kado Thorne will assume his vampiric form, and Halloween-themed Outfits, weapons, and items will be featured in the Fortnite Item Shop.

Overall, while this update may not bring major changes, players can look forward to unlocking the Ahsoka Tano Outfit and discovering more about the upcoming Fortnitemares event.
