Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson Reprise Roles as Joel and Ellie in The Last of Us Halloween Horror Nights

Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, the stars of The Last of Us, have returned to their iconic roles as Joel and Ellie for the first time since The Last of Us Part II in 2020. The actors made a cameo in HBO's The Last of Us series, where Baker played one of the cannibal gang members killed by Ellie, and Johnson portrayed Ellie's mother in a heartbreaking flashback.

Although there is no official news on a third Last of Us game yet, fans can still look forward to seeing Baker and Johnson reprise their original roles as part of this year's Halloween Horror Nights attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando. While it may not be a new game, it's still a thrilling opportunity to see Joel and Ellie back together.

The Last of Us Halloween Horror Nights theme park was announced in June, and SFX Magazine has now reported that Baker and Johnson were brought in to record new lines in character. Universal Orlando's Lora Sauls mentioned that they had the chance to work with the voiceover actors from the game and that they re-recorded the entire dialogue for the haunted house experience.

In addition to working with the actors, Universal also collaborated with Naughty Dog, the game's developer, and Neil Druckmann, the director of The Last of Us and The Last of Us Part II, as well as the co-creator of the TV series. Druckmann specifically requested that the horror experience focus on the Pittsburgh part of the first game, as it received high praise online.

The Last of Us themed attraction will open on September 1 at Universal Orlando and on September 7 at Universal Studios Hollywood. Fans can look forward to a spine-chilling experience featuring the beloved characters from the game series.
