Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2: Release Date Confirmed with New Developer

After a turbulent development phase, Paradox Interactive has announced that Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 will finally be released, and it will now be developed by The Chinese Room.

The highly anticipated sequel to the beloved 2004 game was initially announced at GDC 2019, sending RPG fans into a frenzy of excitement. However, as time went on, it became clear that all was not well behind the scenes. The original release date of March 2020 was changed to an unspecified date in 2020, with the reason being that the studio valued “quality over making the Q1 launch window.”

This was followed by another delay, pushing the game's release to 2021 and mentioning “organizational changes.” But things took a turn for the worse in 2021. Paradox stated that the game would not be released that year, pre-orders were suspended, and the lead development team, Hardsuit Labs, was replaced. The game was subsequently delayed indefinitely.

However, in June, Paradox assured fans that they were still committed to the development of Bloodlines 2 and promised more information in September. And now, the publisher has finally revealed a new release date: late 2024.

Alongside the release date announcement, Paradox also introduced The Chinese Room as the new developer for the game. The indie studio is bringing in a new code base with different gameplay mechanics and RPG systems, along with a fresh story. A new trailer has been released, teasing players with a glimpse of what's to come, with a full gameplay reveal slated for January next year.

It seems that after years of uncertainty, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is back on track. Fans can now look forward to experiencing a new chapter in the vampire-themed RPG series, developed by The Chinese Room.
