What is Hitman 3 free starter?

The Hitman 3 Free Starter Pack is a free demo that lets players experience the first level from Hitman 1 and Hitman 2. It offers a taste of the Hitman trilogy gameplay and mechanics before deciding on purchasing the full Hitman 3 game. Any progress made carries over seamlessly.

Levels and Content

Specifically, the Free Starter Pack includes:

  • ICA Facility – The first level from Hitman (2016)
  • Hawke‘s Bay – The first level from Hitman 2 (2018)

These two levels represent about 2% of the total content across the three Hitman games. But they provide an excellent sampling of the expansive sandbox environments, stealth gameplay, disguises system and creative assassination opportunities the series is known for.

Importing Previous Progress

Before diving into the Hitman 3 content, I highly recommend importing your progress from the previous Hitman games. This will unlock the corresponding levels in Hitman 3 and carry over all mastery unlocks you earned, including over 300 weapons, equipment and disguises.

However, importing will erase any early progress made in Hitman 3 up to that point. So be sure to take advantage of the Free Starter Pack content first!

Hitman 3 Editions

Hitman 3 is available in three main editions:

  • Standard Edition – Includes just the base Hitman 3 game.
  • Deluxe Edition – Comes with the base game and the Deluxe Pack featuring exclusive escalations, suits and items.
  • Trilogy Bundle – Includes the Hitman 3 base game along with access passes for all levels from Hitman 1 and 2.

Based on analysis of typical player completion times, the Standard Edition offers around 50 hours of gameplay, while the Trilogy Bundle boasts over 150 hours spanning all three games.

For new players to the trilogy, the full Trilogy Bundle is highly recommended, providing the complete Hitman experience all in one package. For existing fans, the Standard or Deluxe Hitman 3 editions hold the most value.

Post-Launch Content & Features

Hitman 3 has continued expanding with new content since launch:

  • Seven Deadly Sins Collection – 7 new themed story missions.
  • Deluxe Escalations – Special challenges with unique rules.
  • Freelancer Mode – A roguelite mode added for free.

The game has also added new features and gameplay improvements:

  • Enhanced lighting with ray tracing support on capable PCs.
  • Improved crowd sizes and densities in levels.
  • New camera item to blend into busy public areas.
  • Hundreds of unlocks spanning suits, weapons, equipment.

These help expand an already feature-rich sandbox experience.

Tips for New Players

For those jumping into the trilogy for the first time with Hitman 3, here are some pro tips:

  • Follow highlighted Mission Stories to learn about assassination opportunities.
  • Manual save often so you can retry scenarios.
  • Listen in on conversations to uncover secrets about your targets and their routines.
  • Don disguises to access restricted areas, but be wary of enforcers who see through them.
  • Complete challenges to unlock new starting locations and equipment.

Take the time to truly explore your surroundings and experiment with the tools at your disposal. This freedom and emergent gameplay is what makes Hitman special.

Assessing the Value of the Hitman 3 Bundle

Given the massive amount of content, several editions, and post-launch additions, is the Hitman 3 bundle worth it?

For brand new players, the trilogy bundle is an incredible value, providing over 150 hours of stealth sandbox gameplay for around the full price of one game.

According to critics, Hitman 3 is the pinnacle of the series, improving on every aspect of the previous games. So new players get to experience the trilogy in its best form.

For existing players, opting for just Hitman 3 Standard or Deluxe still offers around 50 hours of new content and gameplay improvements at a reasonable price.

The Transition to Hitman World of Assassination

In January 2023, Hitman 3 will become Hitman World of Assassination. This bundles together all three modern Hitman games into a single cohesive package.

Hitman 3 owners will receive a free upgrade, granting access to all locations from Hitman 1 and 2 at no additional cost. This means over 20+ intricate levels all in one place.

The World of Assassination bundle represents the definitive Hitman experience going forward for new players. Meanwhile, existing owners can look forward to unifying the trilogy into one sleek collection.
