Xerneas Raid Guide for Pokémon GO Players

The Season of Hidden Gems in Pokémon GO is coming to an end as we approach Pokémon GO Fest 2023. As part of the Raid Rotation, Mega Salamence is taking over Mega Raids, and Kalos Legendaries Xerneas and Yveltal are returning to Tier Five raids. This raid guide will assist Pokémon GO players in assembling a team to defeat Xerneas in Tier Five raids.

According to Pokebattler, the top ten counters for Xerneas are Shadow Metagross, Mega Gengar, Metagross, Mega Beedrill, Mega Rayquaza, Nihilego, Dialga, Melmetal, Mega Scizor, and Shadow Mewtwo. It is recommended to power up these counters as much as possible for optimal performance. However, it may be challenging for players to obtain a sufficient number of strong Shadow Pokémon with unlocked moves. Therefore, here are ten additional non-Shadow and non-Mega counters that can be effective against Xerneas: Genesect, Excadrill, Roserade, Jirachi, Gengar, Overqwil, Regigigas, Mewtwo, Apex Purified Ho-Oh, and Heatran.

While Xerneas can be defeated with as few as three trainers, it is more advisable to have four or more players if you are unable to guarantee the use of top counters with maximum CP and optimal moves. To increase your chances of catching Xerneas, utilize the Circle Lock Technique along with Golden Razz Berries for Great or Excellent throws. If you encounter a Shiny Xerneas, it is a guaranteed catch, so remember to use a Pinap Berry.

The Shiny rate for Legendary Pokémon is approximately one in 20. A Xerneas with a perfect IV will have a CP of 2160 in normal weather conditions and 2701 in boosted conditions.

Stay tuned to Bleeding Cool for daily updates on Pokémon GO. Good luck and happy raiding, trainers!
