Zack Snyder Reveals His Love for Fortnite

Zack Snyder, the renowned filmmaker and former head of the DCEU (now known as DCU), recently opened up about his passion for playing Fortnite. During a conversation with IGN at Gamescon, Snyder shared that he initially started playing the popular game alongside his son. However, despite his son's disinterest, Snyder found himself captivated by Fortnite and continued playing it on his own.

Describing his experience, Snyder admitted that he became deeply entrenched in the world of Fortnite. He even confessed to going down a “bad rabbit hole” as he immersed himself in the game. Notably, Snyder mentioned that he prefers playing as a “no builds” player and enjoys using the Meeseeks skin from Rick and Morty.

While Snyder is primarily known for his directorial work on films like “300” and “Watchmen,” he made a significant impact on the superhero genre when he directed “Man of Steel” and “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” for the DCEU. Despite facing challenges with the release of “Justice League,” Snyder's director's cut of the film eventually debuted on HBO Max in 2021.

In recent years, Snyder has delved into original projects, one of which includes the highly acclaimed “Army of the Dead” for Netflix in 2021. The success of this film led to the creation of a spin-off titled “Army of Thieves,” which he co-wrote. Looking ahead, Snyder is set to venture into the sci-fi genre with “Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire,” a Netflix space opera reminiscent of “Star Wars” and “Dune.” The second half of the film is planned for release on April 19, 2024.

In addition to his work in the film industry, Snyder also announced the development of a video game related to “Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire.”
