Mortal Kombat 1: How to Unlock Additional Kameo Fighters

Mortal Kombat 1, set to release next week, promises to bring a fresh dose of ultraviolence to fans of the long-running fighting series. Alongside new features such as a tag-team mechanic and an epic all-new story, players can look forward to unlocking additional Kameo fighters. These fighters include classic versions of Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Kung Lao, Shujinko, and Motaro.

To unlock the additional Kameo fighters, players must level up their Mortal Kombat 1 profile. This can be done by playing the game in single-player modes or online. Experience points (XP) earned during gameplay will boost the player's level. The additional Kameo fighters will be unlocked at regular intervals based on their placement on the character select screen. For example, Scorpion can be unlocked at level 5, Sub-Zero at level 10, and so on.

By simply playing and progressing in the game, players will eventually have access to the full Kameo roster. This provides a nostalgic touch to Mortal Kombat 1, as unlockable characters have always been a part of the series. It offers a throwback to old-school elements not frequently seen in modern video games.

Mortal Kombat 1 is set to launch on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and Switch on September 9, with premium edition owners enjoying early access on September 14. For more guides on Mortal Kombat 1, visit Wccftech’s website.
