Sony Unveils PlayStation Portal: A Handheld Gaming Device for PS5

Sony has officially announced the details of its highly anticipated handheld gaming device for the PS5, now known as the PlayStation Portal. Priced at $199.99, the device features an 8-inch 1080p screen and offers the same capabilities as the standard PS5 Dualshock controller.

The PlayStation Portal allows users to stream games directly from their PS5 and play them in handheld mode. Games can be played at 1080p resolution and 60fps, as long as the game is capable of running at these settings on a PS5. However, there are a few limitations with the device. Users will not be able to play any PSVR or PSVR 2 games on the PlayStation Portal, nor will they be able to stream games that require a PS Plus Premium subscription.

In addition to the PlayStation Portal, Sony has also announced two new audio devices. The Pulse Elite wireless headset, priced at $149.99, and the Pulse Explore wireless earbuds, priced at $199.99. These devices are designed to enhance the gaming experience, providing high-quality audio and immersive sound.

While an exact release date and pre-order date for these products have not been announced, PlayStation Blog has assured fans that they can expect them to be released “later this year.” It won't be long before gamers can get their hands on the PlayStation Portal and these new audio devices.
