CD Projekt Red Unveils Details of Cyberpunk 2077 Update and Phantom Liberty DLC

CD Projekt Red has recently revealed the specifics of the upcoming free update for Cyberpunk 2077, along with the paid features that will be included in the game's new Phantom Liberty DLC. Set to be released on September 26, Phantom Liberty is Cyberpunk 2077's sole expansion, introducing fresh story content, characters, side quests, and much more.

It's been stated that this DLC will completely transform the base game, revamping the systems that were initially implemented at launch and presenting something new and enhanced. However, it has since been confirmed that some of these features will also be added to Cyberpunk 2077 in a free update known as 2.0, which will be released a few weeks prior to the launch of Phantom Liberty.

CD Projekt Red has now officially disclosed the details of what players will be paying for with the DLC and what will be provided for free in patch 2.0. Some of the notable additions in the free update include redesigned skill trees and perks, revamped cyberware and a new capacity system, improved vehicle combat and car chases, enhanced combat AI, a new police system, UX improvements, changes to loot, items, and crafting, and new radio stations, including the Community Radio Station Growl FM.

As for the paid Phantom Liberty DLC, players can expect a dangerous new district called Dogtown, a brand-new storyline with intriguing characters, new quests, gigs, and boss fights, vehicle missions and airdrops offering endless dynamic events, an all-new Relic skill tree and abilities, over 100 new items such as weapons, cyberware, cars, and fashion, the addition of vehicle missile launchers, and an increased level cap of 60.

Phantom Liberty will be priced at £25 upon release, while patch 2.0 will be free for players. Both the DLC and the update will only be available on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, as CD Projekt Red has decided to focus on current-generation consoles and abandon support for last-generation consoles.
