Guilty Gear Strive Reveals Players’ Most Wanted Characters for Season 3

As Guilty Gear Strive gears up for its third season of content, the developers at Arc System Works recently shared some interesting insights from a player survey conducted for the game. With the addition of highly requested characters like Bridget, Johnny, Sin Kiske, and Asuka R#, the top 10 most wanted characters have seen some changes worldwide.

A.B.A, who previously ranked in the top two picks only for South America, has risen to become the most requested character for Strive in North America, South America, and Africa. In Europe and the Middle East, she takes the second spot. In Japan, however, she did not rank in the top five.

Slayer and Elphelt Valentine closely trail A.B.A in terms of popularity and demand. Given that they were already being requested as much as Bridget and Johnny, who have made it into the game, this comes as no surprise.

Interestingly, the desire for a guest character in Guilty Gear Strive isn't as strong. The Middle East is the only region where a guest character made it into the top five picks. The likes of Order Sol, Venom, Raven, and Answer were also not as popular as expected.

It's worth noting that the player demographic for Strive skews towards a younger audience. Over half of the survey respondents fell into the 18-25 age range, and players under 18 formed the third largest group. This suggests that a significant portion of the player base may not have even been born when the first Guilty Gear games were released.

Arc System Works also shared the results of their 35th anniversary poll for the top games ever. Guilty Gear Strive emerged as the top pick, followed by BlazBlue: Central Fiction, Guilty Gear XX (Series), and Guilty Gear Xrd. The full list can be found on the Arc System Works website.

Looking ahead, there is still one more character to be revealed for Strive in 2023. It remains to be seen if A.B.A, Slayer, and/or Elphelt will join the cast, or if Arc System Works has more surprises in store for players.
