Splatoon 3 Receives New Update: Patch Notes and Changes

Nintendo has released a new update for Splatoon 3, bringing the game to version 5.0.0. The update includes various changes and additions to the game's seasons, catalog, gear, multiplayer, weapons, and more.

Starting with the seasons and catalog changes, the update introduces the upcoming Drizzle Season 2023, which begins on September 1st. This includes a new catalog with gear, titles, banners, decorations, stickers, and emotes. Additionally, two new battle stages, Crableg Capital and Shipshape Cargo Co., have been added. Players can also expect two new main weapons and eight new sets of existing main weapons paired with different sub and special weapons. A returning Salmon Run stage, Salmonid Smokeyard from Splatoon 2, is also included in the update. Furthermore, 12 new Tableturf Battle cards have been added.

Gear changes in the update include the introduction of the “Adjust Gear” feature, allowing players to wear selected headgear and T-shirts in new ways. Players can simply select the supported gear from the Equip screen and adjust it using the Y Button.

In terms of multiplayer changes, the update adds three new songs that play during battles. New main weapons have also been added and will be available in the shops at the beginning of Drizzle Season 2023.

The update brings a variety of adjustments and additions to weapons and gear abilities. New weapons, such as the Gold Dynamo Roller, Octobrush Nouveau, and Heavy Edit Splatling, have been added. Some specifications for main weapons and special weapons have been changed to improve balance and gameplay.

Salmon Run receives a new weapon, Grizzco Dualies, and players can now see different Grizzco weapons within the same shift when a green ? mark is shown on the weapon. Additionally, items that can be exchanged for fish scales have been added.

Splatfests now allow players to select different stages during the same time period with Splatfest Battle (Open) and Splatfest Battle (Pro). A new song is also added to play during Splatfest Battles.

In the Tableturf Battle mode, players can now sort cards by “Rarity,” and the default sorting for Edit Deck and Test Placement has been changed to “Sort by Spaces.”

Various changes have been made to the lobby, including the addition of notifications when a friend uploads a battle replay, the ability to use the Shell-Out Machine in Private Battle rooms, and improved matchmaking.

Overall, the update focuses on preparing for Drizzle Season 2023 and balancing battles in Splatoon 3. With new weapons, gear adjustments, and additional features, players can enjoy an enhanced gaming experience.
