What the Golf Coming to PS4 and PS5 Consoles

The unconventional sports simulation game, What the Golf, is making its way to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles later this year. The release will include all current updates and has been optimized for Sony consoles. With haptic-based DualSense support, players will be able to feel the impact of striking a ball, a cat, or even an entire planet toward a hole.

What the Golf takes the traditional concepts of a golf simulation and turns them on their head. Featuring ridiculous golf-related mini-games and ever-changing rules, the game offers hilarious multiplayer matchups. Players are taken to space in some levels, while in others, the golf ball transforms into unexpected objects like an office chair. The game's absurdity has garnered popularity even among those who have little interest in golf.

Originally released on Apple Arcade, What the Golf was later ported to the Nintendo Switch. The Switch version will receive an update featuring a crossover with the popular game Among Us. The update, set to be released on August 3rd, will introduce a new overworld and 35 new levels. These levels were previously available on Apple Arcade and will now be accessible on a dedicated gaming console for the first time. The PC version of the game will also receive some Among Us-themed content.

Developer Triband has announced that seasonal updates will be rolled out over the next year. These updates will include new stages and surprises to coincide with holidays such as Thanksgiving and Valentine's Day. All versions of the game, including Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and PS5, will have access to these free updates. The first of these updates, Beware of the Bogeyman, will be Halloween-themed and available from October 23rd to November 5th.
